Whether mobile phones, wind turbines, electric cars or airplanes, hardly any modern item comes without adhesives. In everyday life, however, there is often a lack of knowledge about the proper use of adhesives, which explains why so many bathroom hooks fall off the wall. Therefore, DELO has taken an active part in creating new educational material that shows how adhesives are used.
Adhesives are the invisible heroes that ensure the integrity of modern products, from electronics to aerospace. Prof. Dr. Bernd Ralle from TU Dortmund has developed teaching materials for chemistry and physics classes. "The Art of Adhesion" is a 58-page guide explaining when and why adhesives work. It is rich with exciting experiments to vividly illustrate the principles involved. Understanding adhesive technology enables students to gain a better grasp of chemical bonds in everyday life and apply them in practical uses. Given how widespread adhesives are, we believe it’s crucial to understand the proper application methods. This comprehensive guide provides the essential knowledge to ensure that even that wall hook stays in place.
The guide is published and distributed by the Fund of the Chemical Industry and the German Adhesives Association. DELO experts assisted in writing this guide and recently handed out copies to the Dominikus Zimmermann Gymnasium in Landsberg, the Rhabanus-Maurus Gymnasium in St. Ottilien, and the Knabenrealschule in Schondorf.

Through the DELO Academy, DELO actively collaborates with universities, colleges, and even schools. Our aim is to promote education and research in the field of modern materials and bonding technologies. Partnerships with educational institutions enable us to inspire young talents in the field of bonding technology and contribute to the development of cutting-edge technologies.
