When it comes to automotive bonding applications, most engineers probably think of structural bonding in car bodies, windshields, or panoramic roofs. In fact, the majority of the 15 kg of adhesive typically used per car is used for these three applications alone, as well as increasingly for bonding other components such as hoods, tailgates, and spoilers. But there are numerous other exciting applications in which bonding can hone its strengths in terms of multi-material connections, miniaturization, multifunctionality, and automation. Here are five examples.
