Dr. Karl Bitzer is Managing Director at DELO Industrial Adhesives. He is responsible for product management, strategy, IT, chemistry, and equipment technology. He has been a member of the Executive Board since 2016 and a member of the Management Board since 2022. His career at DELO began in 2008 in product management, where he specialized in high-tech applications for the consumer and automotive industries. Over the years, he expanded the product management division into the powerhouse it is today and gradually assumed responsibility for strategy, IT, digitalization, and AI. He has played a key role in helping DELO achieve a position in the areas of strategy, technology, and digitalization that far exceeds what is typical for a medium-sized company—and in ensuring that the company’s revenue has increased more than tenfold over the past two decades. Prior to joining DELO, Dr. Bitzer spent eight years at Siemens, most recently in project management and business development with a focus on mobile solutions.
Dr. Bitzer studied physics with a focus on semiconductor and solid-state physics at the University of Ulm and Loughborough University (UK). He earned his Ph.D. in semiconductor physics from the University of Ulm and spent time as a visiting researcher at Columbia University in New York.
