What can you expect?
With the growing demand for optical interconnect technologies, manufacturability becomes increasingly important. One major factor is the accurate and fast alignment of optical signals – for example from fiber array units (FAU) to a PIC or with the help of receptacles for detachable connectors. Such alignment processes require adhesives with fast UV-fixation, low shrinkage, and high bonding strength after reliability testing.
DELO has successfully developed an adhesive addressing all these properties. Moreover, many other bonding challenges around the critical optical coupling are addressed in parallel developments.
