At DELO, students have numerous options to write their master's thesis across various departments. Sarah is a master's student focusing on materials science with a physics emphasis at the University of Augsburg. She is now working on her thesis in DELO's laboratory. In an interview, she shares her enthusiasm for the world of adhesives and provides insights into her daily work life at DELO.
For me, this is the perfect opportunity to gain practical experience outside of academic research. I had already specialized in polymer science during my master’s studies, and DELO impressed me with its well-equipped laboratories.
I am focusing on the characterization of bonding part surfaces and their impact on adhesive suitability.
I have the flexibility to organize my laboratory schedule myself and can work on the written part of my thesis from home or on-site. I share an office with my supervisor, which allows me to directly consult with him whenever I have questions.
I'm fascinated by the polymer chemistry and physics behind adhesives, which offer a vast range of achievable properties and resulting applications.
After my master's, I can see myself starting to work at DELO directly after graduation. However, pursuing a PhD at the university is also something I'm still contemplating!
