With a retraction valve, DELO expands its portfolio of dosing systems for adhesives. The innovative DELO-DOT RE prevents disruptive adhesive drops through a retraction mechanism and enables bubble-free adhesive application in the confined spaces.
With reproducible dosing accuracy of ±3% and minimum dosing volumes down to 0.092 μl, it achieves higher precision and smaller volumes than direct dispensing from cartridges.
With a compact size of only 33 x 25 x 112 mm, DELO-DOT RE can be easily integrated into almost any production line, especially since the valve is only 18 mm wide. Weighing less than 100 grams, it also has a minimal impact on existing systems. The actuator and fluidics are separate, allowing for easy assembly and disassembly without tools. The cartridge can also be changed without tools using spring-loaded reinforcement clips on the control element.
DELO-DOT RE has a wide range of applications. Direct dispensing from the cartridge is often preferred for semiconductor encapsulation and active alignment processes in camera manufacturing. Unlike direct dispensing, however, the retraction valve prevents dripping and bubble formation, which reduces waste. The attachment of sensor housings to printed circuit boards has also often been done by direct dispensing. In this case, the retraction mechanism of the valve provides the necessary control to ensure a continuous adhesive layer thickness.
The technology behind it.
The name "retraction valve" is explained by the characteristic functional principle of the DELO-DOT RE. A retracting plunger creates a controlled vacuum effect that completely prevents dripping. This retraction movement is supported by its own spring and ensures bubble-free adhesive dosing without disruptive adhesive drops.
The vacuum created during retraction generates a controlled negative pressure that "sucks back" the adhesive into the system. Constant pressure at the cartridge maintains bubble-free operation throughout the entire dispensing process. Even when opening the plunger, pressure equalization ensures controlled outward flow of the adhesive. During closing, the vacuum effect reliably prevents any dripping - a decisive advantage over conventional adhesive application, where drops can occur due to gravity or residual pressure.
The DELO-DOT RE dispensing system processes media with viscosities up to 500,000 mPa·s, enabling it to dispense highly viscous adhesives such as epoxy resin bubble-free. With consistent dispensing accuracy of ±3%, it ensures reproducible results even with the most challenging materials.
For laboratory use, the DELOMAT 101 is suitable for reliable control of the DELO-DOT RE. The quick-acting valve is ideal for machine integration as it offers more precise and faster switching times.
