Laser applications are being used in ground-breaking production processes and are likely to develop into a universal tool that can be used across a variety of industries. As quality standards and power requirements increase, advanced laser systems are expected to meet these needs, posing considerable challenges for laser manufacturers. Highly specialized adhesives offer innovative solutions where conventional joining methods reach their limits and are insufficient.

Precise positioning and alignment of Fast Axis Collimator Lenses (FAC) and Slow Axis Collimator (SAC), mirrors and prisms using an active alignment process is crucial to meet the quality standards required by laser manufacturers. Specially developed epoxy adhesives from the DELO KATIOBOND family are suitable for this purpose. These adhesives are both light- and dual-curing (light and heat) and exhibit high resistance to laser beams, low and controllable shrinkage, low outgassing and maintain precision performance over their entire lifetime. In active alignment processes, optical components can be fixed in one to five seconds, enabling efficient processing with shorter production cycle times.

Adhesives from the DELO PHOTOBOND family are well-suited for the optimal housing sealing of laser systems. They can be used for applications such as Cured in Place Gasket (CIPG) for reliable seals or Formed in Place Gasket (FIPG) for the secure fastening and sealing of the housing sealing.
